Bogor – Various activities are carried out by the students of the Al Andalus International Islamic Boarding School in completing the first semester holiday. One of the positive things done by a number of santri is to fill the holiday by doing da’wah in the affected areas of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Palu, Central Sulawesi.
“We (the santri) there share knowledge with the children and adolescents of victims of natural disasters with minimal conditions, but their enthusiasm is so high, even though their conditions are still difficult and have no place to live,” said Rodhi, a representative of the santri volunteers from Jonggol Al Andalus Islamic Boarding School when contacted on Wednesday (1/9/2019).
In addition to preaching activities, representatives of Al Andalus santri also carried out a humanitarian aid mission initiated by the Al Irsyad Islamic Boarding School Alumni Association, to help victims of natural disasters in the region.
Rodhi added, while in the refugee camp, the three students who were volunteers from the Al Andalus Islamic Boarding School, which numbered three people, were assisted by the As-Sunnah Post.
The Al Andalus Islamic boarding school students who were part of the humanitarian action in Palu began with the offer of the Al Irsyad Islamic Boarding School Alumni Association to work together to convey Islamic da’wah in the midst of the difficult atmosphere there.
The santri are in refugee camps from December 18, 2018 to January 6, 2019. Not only are they sacrificing physical sacrifice, but also their vacation time spent devoted to children and adolescents victims of natural disasters.
“Hopefully this activity can inspire millions of Muslim youth in Indonesia to spend more of their time on kindness and social,” hoped Rodhi. (*)
